Your Library Card
Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.
Who can get a card
Adult cards are issued to customers 18 or over. Juvenile cards are issued to customers under the age of 18. A parent or guardian must sign the Library Card Registration form for the juvenile patron. The parent or guardian's name must be recorded in the patron record.
How to Get Your Card
In order to obtain a card, the registration card must be filled in completely and legibly. The patron must show a driver's license or picture ID and 2 other items with the patron's address on it (i.e. bill, letter, check stub, etc.). A child's card must be filled out by an adult who is responsible for that child (parent or legal guardian). Cards must be signed in the library, not taken home to be signed. Library cards must be presented each time the patron checks out materials.
Borrowing Limits
Material checkouts are limited to 5 items, which may include a limit of 3 videos or DVDs. Books and audio books have a circulation period of 2 weeks, magazines - 3 days, and videos and DVDs - 3 days. Materials may be renewed 3 times unless there is a waiting list.
Placing Holds
If a patron wishes to request a hold be placed on an item, they can either call the library or come in to the library. They will be called when the item they have placed on hold is available.
Renewing Your Borrowed Items
A patron may renew the items checked out by coming in to the library or calling provided they have their library card number available. Items will not be renewed if they are overdue. The fine must be paid before the item is renewed.
Library Fines
Fines will be assessed for all overdue materials according to the following schedule: Books, audio books, and periodicals - $.10 a day; Videos and DVDs - $1.00 a day. If the material is lost, the patron will be responsible for the fines accrued, cost of the item and a processing fee for each item, which is non-refundable. If the article is found within 6 months, the cost of the item will be refunded but all other fees remain the responsibility of the patron.
